Ftp Access

SETTING UP XENIUM’S FTP SERVER

Now that your network is set up, we need to enable the Xenium OS 2.0.3 FTP server so you can use it to transfer files to and from your XBOX hard disk drive.

Go to the Xenium OS menu, and select Settings. Then, select FTP Settings. Make sure the first line says: FTP Server – On. If it doesn’t, highlight it and press A to change it. By default, the FTP username = xbox and the password = xbox. There is no need to change these at the moment, but you can if you wish.

Restart the XBOX by turning it off and pressing the Eject button to turn it on. At this point, you should be able to access your XBOX via FTP from your PC. You can test the connection with an internet browser on your PC by typing the following in the address bar: ftp://:@ replacing the fields in <> with the correct values. If it worked, you will see folder icons for your XBOX hard drive’s partitions fill in the window after it logs on.

Now that you have done tested your ftp connection we can use some Mac compatible FTP software. I use Fetch. I suggest that you purchase it after you try it out. It’s a great piece of software to have.

1. First thing first download your software and open it up. You will see a window like this with a dog present. That is the icon for fetch (Isn’t he cute).

2. Now double click on the icon and a window shold pop up like this.( I would suggest that you try before you buy. If you wish to purchace follow the instructions on their web site. Otherwise just click the try button.

3. Once you have registered or clicked on the try button Enter your XBOX connection information. Replace the info in this example with the correct values for your setup

4. If everything has gone well, you should now see a screen similar to this with all of your parent directories or partions C, D, E, and F.:

You can now navigate through you directories by double clicking on the corresponding icon. To upload or download files, simply drag and drop.

Familiarize yourself with the interface and practice using Fetch by backing up your XBOX hard drive to your Mac. (Note: the C and E folders on the XBOX are the only ones that need to be backed up. The X, Y and Z folders are nothing but game cache space. All the important stuff is on C and E.

Now you are ready to install programs to your Xbox such as:

Greetings Bones, you have a pretty cool blog here. I was searching for work from home pc. I just started my home business and you can see it at this link - work from home pc. Your post title caught my eye - this post. I'm just looking for tips on how to be a better mentor. I know that’s not what you’re going on about in this post but I am trying to expand my vocabulary phrases so I can talk to many different personalities. I mean I have to talk to a lot of people and I need to be able to connect with everyone.

Anyways Bones, this helped. Keep it up, I'll be back.
